I mean fascism isn't about jackboots, it's about individual and collective liberties being squashed every time they come into conflict with corporate and government interests. you can get squashed by a smiley face. you can even think you like it while it's happening. that doesn't change the power dynamic.
@walruslifestyle I would describe that more as corporate tyranny.
Fascism tends to cooperate with companies to a certain degree for the purposes of retaining more power for themselves (the fascist state).
I think it's worth differentiating them since they seem to have different goals and priorities.
(Neither are desirable obviously.)
