also in general, I find the pan flag a lot more aesthetically pleasing than the bi flag, and it is also more clearly inclusive
red + blue + yellow clearly indicates "any and all genders," whereas the bi's mixing of red and blue really doesn't.
also, the bi flag is really a five-striped flag, where the purple is ⅕ the flag. the pan flag puts the yellow equally among the red and blue

like, I get the idea of pan = all and bi = those both like me and unlike me, ultimately it just boils down to the same thing. I'd rather go with all sorts of nuanced terms like the aroace community has done, to explain the nuanced differences, while still keeping "pan" as the umbrella term for both these cases
also like, in general, most bi stuff is *still* associated with its original definition. pan is *always* an inclusive term
