@Austin_Dern I think it's pretty straightforward. However, I'd strongly advise against using the "duplicate layer" feature. It's kind of dangerous from a usability perspective.
@therealraccoon It's wonderfully potent; I just keep crashing hard against stuff that isn't where I expect, especially since I'm on the Mac and QGIS is ... not designed around Mac UI guidelines. (Also that I don't need to use it often, so I don't get used to the way it does things as well as I ought.)
... Really, I need to take a proper GIS course and get good with all this background stuff, but who has the time to do things right anymore?
