Why you should care about severance-agreements:
* Most people only see one when they get fired.
* If you see one, they're trying to buy you off somehow.
Know your rights, and the system.
@sysadmin1138 The severance agreement that was put before me started off by including a non-disparagement clause that extended not only to my past interactions with the institution in question, but all future ones too. That clause met my :unamused: face.
@sysadmin1138 This is why it's important to be member of a union (you don't need to shout it everywhere). I just got hired, and I asked to my union if my contract was ok. Cool to know, even if I was sure of that before.
