@paregorios is it inappropriate to ask for a Pleiades project Mastodon bot (with a mix of systems status, project updates etc.)? I see institutional/project accounts as a missing presence in the fediverse. That may be in line with the Mastodon ethos of a communication space that is more in control of individuals, I reckon.
https://botsin.space/about looks like it's setup for just this sort of usage.

I look forward to engaging in deep back-and-forth with the (soon to exist?) @pleiades bot.
I shall ask it how it feels when I say 'Alexandria'.
More seriously, it actually could respond to lat longs (direct?) tooted at it??
@sebhth @paregorios @ryanfb @sgillies @pleiades aha, I meant to write "account", a regular human-curated account, but a Pleiades Q&A bot would be 🚀
mildly queasy
@steko
Yeah, I've been wondering about the #ToBotOrNot issue: in this case whether to create a #PleiadesGazetteer #bot for #mastodon.
I've actually been seeing what it's like to *not* follow any bots myself. Honestly, I kinda like it.
I wonder whether #RSS might better serve the use case (though obviously that would be external to a mastodon client).
Maybe some discussions with colleagues and users/admins on my instance (#sociacoop) will coalesce.
I wonder if @sgillies
has an opinion.
