Mexico City buried history: a map showing the Lago de Texcoco and the Metro lines in today's Ciudad de México. The big Lake and water management system was drained by the Spanish rulers in the early 17th century, paving the way for today's arid weather and lack of water. The metro system’s construction has resulted in more than 20,000 archeological findings.
