After reading this, I want to figure out how to get my OpenBSD machines' consoles to display orange text on a black background. They currently do white on black.

Orange on black might not be as aesthetic as the shades of blue currently popular, but it's better for nighttime work.

There may be better solutions, but you can tweak the ANSI palette for wscons in /sys/dev/rasops/rasops.c

This indeed implies a custom built kernel.

@starbreaker @julianaito This actually leads to the question - should amber consoles become the default? It's definitely a good trend we're seeing in tech now.

When I was a kid one of the first computers I programmed had an amber display so I'd be a big fan.
