The cool part of having Mastodon featured on Vice et. al, is that suddenly I'm aware it exists. And folks are flooding onto the service.
The bad part is that means the trolls and "parody accounts" are also following. And that could potentially ruin the entire appeal of this as an alternative to Twitter. :/
BUT maybe it'll be more moderated. I dunno how it works yet. I've only been here a few hours!
@geekylou I'm *very* curious how to move shards/servers, or if it's even possible to move existing toots and profile info.
I'm also a huge nerd.
@seven5three Hopefully the federated nature of it will help as we can always make our own server or move if a space becomes unsafe due to bad moderation.
I'm not sure how easy moving server is yet as I'm still learning how things work.
