@seven5three yes, there is no lack of options, that's for sure.

I don't know much about Tox's encryption or how trustworthy it is, but I've seen it mentioned a few times on Mastodon.

@seven5three an open source instant messaging application or skype alternative, but i am not happy with it. because their is no message sending when contact is offline, it's a peer2peer connection if you know what that is.

if you're looking for an skype alternative: I use Jitsi, it's not the best I can think of, but it works.
If you're looking for instant messaging alternatives I could also recommend something.

@allilengyi I almost never bother with voice or video chat. Some friends are on Discord now so I've been trying to use that.
