"The night before Christmas, one of Santa's Elves calls you in a panic. 'The printer's broken! We can't print the Naughty or Nice List!' By the time you make it to sub-basement 17, there are only a few minutes until midnight. 'We have a big problem,' she says; 'there must be almost fifty bugs in this system, but nothing else can print The List....'"

Advent of Code 2017 has started! Here's this year's first coding puzzle: adventofcode.com/2017/day/1

I'm going to _try_ to do it in Rust but idk

Sam Schlinkert @schlink

woohoo got my 2 stars for the day, and did it using Rust! github.com/sts10/advent-of-cod

(Screenshotted: I also now have a handy textfile -> Vector standalone Rust function to re-use on later days.)

Anyone else try the Day 1 challenge? octodon.social/media/FTK2SRAnn

@schlink i did! but, i did it in JS (which i'm most familiar with) because i'm boring

@zacanger awesome! I'm sure I'll drop back to Ruby, my comfort language, at some point...

Also, I just learned that some crazy folks challenge themselves to do each day in a DIFFERENT language, few of which I've heard of reddit.com/r/adventofcode/comm

@schlink that's wild! i might venture into clojure or haskell if i feel brave, but definitely not that many langs (i don't even know that many)
