Yesterday I nuked my Academia.edu account for good, after one year of inactivity. I no longer want to be associated nor support a for-profit entity that exploits academic labor, especially from marginalised people who get a false sense of belonging (the infamous "independent" subdomain). @steko I am considering to do so. These people got mad. RG is still acceptable but I expect they follow the same model.
