This also means that my "switching to BSD" project is currently dead in the water, because I can't really work on a laptop without X.
Most other things seem to be working, most importantly the WiFi card just needs to have its firmware manually installed because of restrictive licensing.

I'm currently in a similar predicament as you are but not as urgent, i.e. moving away from Alpine Linux to OpenBSD.

From the OS security standpoint, I was just wondering why you did not pick QubesOS to switch to instead...

@contraultra Because last time I tried it, my GPU ended up drawing nothing but rainbows after the install ;)
But it would be worth checking out again...
