Ugh. I really don't know how to get started with this thing. I feel like no one will follow me if I don't have a lot of toots here first, but I don't have anything to say usually.
@aphandra I also feel like I don't have a lot to say, but I've had good results just from responding to other people's thoughts. Use your profile description to say what you're into. Follow people you like, especially on other instances. Look at the people those users follow themselves to find new people. Boost. Favourite. Engage.
I personally feel I'm cultivating an enjoyable experience on mastodon with this strategy.
