Pretty sure Mastodon is going to replace Twitter the same way Ello replaced Facebook, but wth I'll give it a shot anyway
@potentato Replacing Twitter entirely isn't the goal, but offering a community that people can build themselves? I think that's the beautiful part about Mastodon. I could make my own instance if I wanted to and make my own little social network of like minded individuals. I think the issue is that Mastodon seems like twitter, but it's different enough that it has merit all its own.
@golero decentralization is pretty great, yeah. Though Diaspora never really took off. I can't actually remember where I ended up setting up my Diaspora account. I worry that will happen to me here?
On the other hand, this seems more fully-formed than Ello did when I signed up there.
