Does anyone:
* know about the old Microsoft interlink (interlnk/intersrv) protocol in detail,
* have a copy of interlnk/intersrv.exe,
* have a backup of the defunct ftp.microsoft.com ftp site, or
* have an archive of Dr. Dobb's Journal covering 1996?
Asking for a friend who is me

@suetanvil thanks! got it!
@phooky
Also, I have a bunch of 1996 issues on paper. Is there a specific article you need?
@suetanvil there was apparently one about the protocol, but now that I have a copy of interlink I should be all set. Thanks!
@phooky Was it included in any Microsoft installation media? I'm currently at my parents place where we keep a nice trash heap^W^W archive of old computer parts and software.
@sebastian it might have been, but I've got a copy now-- thanks!
@sebastian (also, it turns out it was bundled with most later versions of MS-DOS after all.)
@phooky Hehe, okay then it would have been only a matter of finding the right set floppies in the huge pile and dusting of a drive.
thanks to everyone for your help-- found a copy!
@phooky you may want to check with @textfiles on birdsite, idk if they have a masto yet. they archive a bunch of stuff like this and may have it
@phooky have you tried archive.org

You've seen this page: http://www.pcxt-micro.com/dos-interlink.html
Right?
There's a downloadable zip file there that it claims contains the programs. I'm on my phone so I can't investigate further.
