From a medical standpoint, what is the best way to talk about birth control that isn't inherently heteronormative?
I saw a cis woman do their edgy take about how a doctor asked if they took any form of birth control and they said "yah I'm a lesbian"
But, despite its name, sex isn't the sole purpose of it (i.e. endometriosis and folks with bad cramps also use it).
However, when doctors ask me what "medications" I take, I don't consider listing an IUD.
