A website I have loved just announced that it is shutting down its forum, and moving the discussion to #Facebook. Sigh.
Well, I guess that's the end of my relationship with that site.
@segfault Nothing, except the desire to keep Facebook out of my life altogether.
This article explains some of the problems with #Facebook:
Get your loved ones off Facebook

So, yeah. I want no part of any Facebook thing.
@mirabilis boo, that’s frustrating.
@gannet It is. I've just spent a few minutes removing all links from sites of mine to that site. A clean break is best, I think.
@mirabilis @TheGibson
I just threw up a little byte.
That really sucks :(
En terme d'effort d'administration, c'est malheureusement assez logique...
@mirabilis Yeah, I hate Facebook, too. Although, I do use it for one expat group here in my city.
Any chance if finding another similar discussion forum?
@SlowRain Perhaps.
Mostly I'm disappointed. There was an independent discussion space, and now it's gone. I guess the assumption is that everybody is already on FB, or will join for this. That says sad things about the state of the internet, IMHO.
@mirabilis I respect your conviction. I'm 90% of the way there.
So far, I've always found alternatives to Facebook. Just that one unfortunate exception.
@SlowRain That's frustrating, isn't it?
@mirabilis whats stopping you from making an account with fake info? honest question
