So uh ... how safe is it for a white transfemme with purple hair and zero knowledge of Mandarin to travel to Taiwan?
@memnus having lunch with a Taiwanese friend on Monday. I can pick her brains if this trip is still a possibility (later toots seemed uncertain). She's cis tho, so I dunno how clued in she'll be.

@memnus I'm sorry I can't answer the first half of your question, but language-wise if you're in taipei it should be ok re getting around - there's always a fair share of scammy taxi drivers etc but there is decent public transport in the city
definitely worth touching base with a mandarin speaker though :/
