aah why is dd being slow?
it says it's going at 1.1MB/s but it feels way slower than that

i don't know why raspberry pi images are so hard to deal with, though now that i think of it i've always had problems with this micro sd. i'd try another one but i have important data on the only other card i have.
i could pick up a 16gb for cheap i'd imagine, but i have no way to get myself to the store.
