By default the masto site doesn't let me keep the federated and local timelines open together?
@DarkestKale I'm not sure if it's just my instance, but you can open the options on one of the timelines, and click "pin" to make it a new column.
@korvys Yeah this works, but the 'active' one, ie: the one it shows threads in, insists on being the rightmost, which is shitty
@DarkestKale True. I supposed the options are the condescending "It's open source, fix it yourself", or the mostly less condescending "It's open source, submit a big/feature request".
@korvys Suspect it's gonna fall into the ole 'it's open source and thus there's no real drive behind it so everything kinda stalls out' valley
@DarkestKale Possibly, but Gargron (and several of the admins for bigger instances) has got a patreon for this, so I feel like that's less likely than people just doing it for the love.
@DarkestKale Regarding feature requests, theoretically, an admin could run a slightly different version of masto with different features (though you're on Gargron's, so it's probably running the main branch)
