Still trying to figure out where to base myself. Within Mastodon or outside in GNU Social? I've just stumbled onto Octodon and it seems like you have a bunch of good people here. But what is the criteria one should apply in finding a place to settle? Does it even matter?
@dboisvert Setting up an instance would be awesome but I suspect requires more know how/time than I have (the time aspect being fluid because a lot of days I seem to do anything to stop myself from working!)
@juliansimpson I was asking myself the same question. For me, for now, it doesn't matter. But creating a instance based on certain criteria and then sharing with the global timeline seems interesting.
