wellp I almost flooded the first floor of my house with hot water because I didn't have the valve turned the right way when I removed the hot water supply line from the dishwasher... I feel dumb. thankfully Andrea ran to the basement and turned the water off to the whole house. probably should have done that to begin with. happy to have learned this lesson without having to destroy a house in the process.


@dthompson isn't plumbing fun?

I had a similar event this spring where an old valve on the hot water line broke and started spraying scalding water right at my inverter

@joeyh it's super fun! it really was the dumbest mistake. I opened the valve all the way instead of closing it all the way. sigh... well I have it set correctly now and the water is back on for the rest of the house so that's good.
