so I got a letter from the IRS, they received a second, fradulent tax return filed by someone else.
It helpfully includes this section:
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW
(one blank line, no information)
So WTF am I supposed to do now?
@joeyh Get a tax lawyer.
@joeyh Become the blank noninformational line you want to see!
@joeyh Clearly, you don't need to know anything!
(But seriously, give them a call and ask. They're open 'til 7 local time if you're in the continental US. 800-829-1040. The people on the phone are super knowledgeable and polite, but the phone tree before them can be a bit of a bear.)
