my groundhog's day: Seems it's gonna stay cloudy so I need to fire up the wood stove. As soon as I'm done it turns sunny.

why can't weather forecasts get serious about predicting cloud cover?

srsly, I read the NWS forecasts and they are just "maybe clouds go away ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "

Sometimes it's just hard to predict. From what I've heard from people in the field, especially for precise locations, a breakup in the clouds could be 50km either direction.

Or the ensemble forecast just points in five different directions, also a cause for "eh, dunno".
