why does my brain care about a ~15 ms audio delay when watching video, but not when watching someone speak from across a room?

@kragen @joeyh - is that the audio delay from the TV set when playing videos?

I guess the difference is 15 ms TV delay + 15 delay distance delay.

The brain compensates the distance delay, but not the technical delay of the TV set.

@ij I'm guessing @joeyh is talking about an extra 15ms audio delay that isn't present when watching a TV set.
