Sometimes self-care means telling off that committee member who made the insensitive remark. Gently, though, and in a considered way, no matter how much you may want to tell him to go fuck himself.
(The high road usually feels more satisfying to me.)
@jason in most cases I have had, the controlled but clear message has reached the target. Once, after several controlled attempts spread over two month, I left a business board over your 'High road'. It was a pleasure :-D
