I read a couple of news articles about this, both of which raised more questions than they answered.

1) Has anyone asked whether the American Football League is following suit? or is the AFL taking the moral (not to mention Constitutional) high ground?

2) Why does the NFL want even lower ratings? They are alienating a segment of their viewers, which can't be good for business.
