Social media presents an opportunity to enrich our lives.
I block people who are Nazis, racists, or sexist, trolls, and other jerks, not because I am angry, but because they add no value to my life at all.
I doubt very much that by doing so, I am creating a homogeneous group
Moreoever you can never say if you ended building an echo chamber around a certain group of belief, because you might find many people, around the world that populate it with you.
So you might be blocking a lot of opinions to reach you, just by blocking one more stupid guy.
Now, again, we don't have to accept violence, but we can just ignore it. You don't have to follow Nazi, or sexists, or whatever, but if you block them completely you are hurting them, you... the whole fediverse.
@Shamar Ah, no.
@jannamark
Not _one_ homogenous group.
Several ones.
Now obviously you are free to do as you like, you are the ultimate judge here. And nobody have to accept harrasments.
I just want to point out that, if you remove yourself from a group that does not share your opinion on a topic, you make that group a little more homogeneous.
Repeat this several times and we will create several homogenous groups in anger with the rest of the world, easy to manipulate and control.
