Enjoyed quite well Ghost in The Shell today. The movie got a bad reputation due to whitewash casting, but if you know nothing at all about the context of the story and original works like me, it was not as bad as heard. I liked the visual quality, even the story details were a bit too simplified or crude maybe?

@indigo6 That's almost always the case with American remakes though. They really dumb down the stories I think. And add some exploding helicopters and car chases XD

@frankiesaxx True, there WAS a helicopter exploding😁

@indigo6 I liked the movie, as a fan of GITS , and what seemed to me was that people were initially over-hyped, then when the casting decisions were made public everyone kinda assumed it was going to be a shit movie. It was a decent movie with good visuals, my only caveat was that the story was compressed to fit into a movie timeframe and so the first (and more expository) half felt rushed. A-OK to me

@TheRealAurelianoBuendia That was what I felt about, the story details looked too trimmed down so there was a part hard to understand. Even though, A-OK from a fan of GITS is nice to know. I really liked the city's atmosphere.

@indigo6 Yeah, the atmosphere was something I felt was really well made. It looked futuristic yet well worn. I think some stills from those scenes are very reminiscent of the original anime, the way all the neon and lights fall out of focus.

@TheRealAurelianoBuendia Have you seen The Zero Teorem of Terry Gilliam? That movie shows too that "futuristic yet well worn" decor. In this movie this is much more irritating, but it is interesting that in future world both shows the advertisement dominates every surface of object.

@indigo6 You should see the original too. I just saw it for the first time and it's amazing.
