^^ what they said...also, peek into the federated timeline every so often... expand toot threads & read the responses, you might find ppl with an interesting take that way...

@greedy when you see someone you think might be interesting, click on their name to scroll through their posting history. It might have been a one-off fluke that intrigued you or a trend in their postings.
Now I never watch either the local or federated timelines, because I already have plenty of relevant stuff to read from the folks I follow.
Sometimes I still follow even more, because of who They boost, but I try to keep it down, so I read all those whom I follow.

@greedy well, there are over one million ppl posting, so you have to be very selective. I max out at reading 40-60 people's posts.
YMMV of course.
