so I just got perscribed SSRIs and i'm really terrified, i know they're gonna make me better but also i'm worried i'm gonna lose part of myself or something. it's probably an irrational fear but i'm still rly scared
I am in a similar boat. You can try the ssris and see if you like them and if not you don't have to keep taking them, so you are still in charge. They say it takes a few months to really know if you like them. I never liked them and ended up getting valium instead that I take very occasionally.
