@fxneumann anyone is just free to post in their own language and if having some flag to filter the language ruin the fact you can't speak with them meh not for it
@Moustache It should be opt-in. My use case: Tooting in different languages and giving my followers the option to only display those toots in languages they understand. I see this not as limiting my reach, but increasing it: At the moment it's not that interesting for non-German speakers to follow me, as most of my toots/tweets are German. But with a language flag I could easily internationalise my tooting which I normally don't do now to prevent flooding duplicate content.
@Moustache That's why the flag should be optional. Shitposting knows no borders.
