My company used "but most people don't ever go to the doctor!" as a justification for keeping the same premiums for a nightmare deductible and ridiculous out-of-pocket max. I'd have a joke to put here, but honestly I'm terrified at the prospect of getting sick and having to choose between doctors and bankruptcy.

@fraunerd
But the tax savings of a high deductible HSA plan make it soooo worth it! And we know that our lawmakers would never ever take away our tax-advantaged savings accounts like the 401K (replacing those awful guaranteed pensions of old!)! Who needs to unfettered access to healthcare when you can save $3,450 tax free each year and some day be a millionaire!?!! /s

@fraunerd Europe will be open for job business! Wish/hope the UK will be. I met someone who works out of Copenhagen a while back, and the description of the social financial system over there made me weep. Yes, taxes; yes - social services that are truly meaningful so happiness index very high. Sob. Anyway, you may not be imprisoned by geography, is my point
