As I utterly failed at my #hamradio goal for April (having an #amsat QSO) I am going to make that my May #amateurradio goal instead ;-)
Time to start checking for useful satellite passes. Which, of course, means that my attention turns to one of my project ideas of a satellite tracker/info display. Which is attention I should be putting into actually operating my radios and not procrastinating over new projects.
@MatStace I've never gotten into satellite work. Possibly because that would involve not being on HF ;)
@MatStace Yeah, I only really operate portable. My noise floor isn't as bad as yours, but it's not great either. Fortunately it's not so difficult to get out somewhere out where I live -- it's suburban, maybe 30 miles outside NYC (about the distance from the City to, say, Woking or Guilford)
@filkerdave I've found it hard to get into HF due to home being a flat with a tiny balcony in the middle of London, with absurd levels of QRM (often S9+)
