All followers tagged with migration notice. only took SEVERAL HOURS to manually notify 85 followers.
@DaveHiggins hmm yes perhaps should have used "followers only" or "direct message".
@fallerOfFalls I think we're all building the best approaches as we go along.
Given how many people move instances or run multiple accounts then discontinue some, some way of automatically notifying followers would be a nice-to-have. Probably not urgent though.
@DaveHiggins There's this issue https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/177 but it's gotten waay too complicated, trying to solve all the migration problems at once. I might make another issues JUST for automatically notifying all followers of a move, and giving them the option to follow you in the new place.
@fallerOfFalls Having another way to do it would be useful feature, both to spare you that effort and spare others a local stream full of the same message over and over.
