Using openrouteservice.org/ for mapping my cycle-tour from the Netherlands to Spain.
Best online-tool for mapping cycleroutes outside of the Netherlands I have discovered so far. GPX-files are being uploaded to my Garmin-device.

@ericb Sometimes I need to mark really many intermediate points in order to get a sane route but overall, it's awesome tool.

@ericb How long is it? Great to hear that you’re using free software, GNU/Linux

@Ghosty Well I thought it would be around 1500 KM but it turns out to be more like 1700 KM...whoops.
It's this route europafietsers.nl/fietsroutes/ and then from Narbonne into Spain. There's a gpx-file on this site but it's rather big (my Garmin doesn't like that), so I'm creating my own gpx-files with the route description in the two booklets and with the big gpx-file.

@ericb Ahh. I’m also a big fan of driving around with my bike. My routs stay national though :P. At summer I’ll make an trip from Berlin to the Baltic sea.

@ericb
I've been liking GPSies - have you used it? Not sure how the two compare. It looks like your option might be a little nicer.

@gbrnt @ericb I use both.
Gpsies for tracking and OpenRoute for calculating a new route 🗺

@linhares @ericb Just checked out OpenRoute - seems like a really nice interface. I'll switch to it for planning my next journey (if I remember the name). What do you mean by "for tracking"?

@gbrnt @ericb to record a GPS track. I use It on my phone.
Then I use the tracklog to edit OpenStreetMap 🗺️

@gbrnt I didn't know GPSies, thanks for the suggestion. The ability to see tracks created by other people is especially nice.
