Had to reinstall , decided it was as good a time as any to try and my desktop has never looked so good ;u; octodon.social/media/FLpM680zY

@starbreaker Thanks! Getting the panel to match was a little tricky, but the theme editor is a really cool tool. I'll definitely have to play around with it more!

@emmykei Maybe we should start tagging Linux/BSD screenshots with ? :)

@starbreaker haha, I've oggled at plenty of desktop threads, so a tag full of screenshots would be tantalizing ๐Ÿ˜‹

@emmykei I'm still suspicious of it ever since it went all widgety with KDE4. I just want Windows, but if Windows went Supersayan

@Canageek I've only tried xfce before, so this is a pretty big step up for me. I like clean, simple desktops so I haven't put any widgets on there (still trying to figure out how to get rid of the cashew). Some of the system tray widgets seem neat through, so I'll have to peruse those more

@emmykei Ah yeah. It used to be a pretty simple manager, then it got kinda strange at one point. Probably still the one I'd use, though LXDE looks interesting as well. I've not used Linux in years, I should try it again.

@emmykei XFCE is also my go to small window manager, even though I hate how Mac Classic it is.

@Canageek Yeah I made the hop from Win8 to Debian about 3 years ago and idk if I could go back. Linux+xfce has been great on my laptop. I'll have to admit, I'm a little worried how resource intensive KDE will be on there but that's the price i pay for ~aesthetics~

@emmykei Yeah, I need Powerpoint on my laptop, and I game on my desktop. :(

@Canageek LibreOffice has been good for most of my needs, gaming has been a bit tricky ๐Ÿ˜• luckily I play more RPGs and puzzle games which are plenty on Steam+Linux. I've mostly switched to playing on my PS4 now and working on my PC

@emmykei Yeah, you can't even reliably switch between Mac and Windows versions of PowerPoint, imagine trying to use LibreOffice :P
