my company just sent an email saying they will allow "summer jeans". did i just get a business email about jorts?

@dumpling i honestly cant parse "summer shorts" as anything other than jorts. i do work with a bunch of old white dads and if there are 2 things things they like its old navy american flag tshirts and jorts
@catdad I guess one of the good things about moving to Europe is that I see far fewer American flag shirts... as well as cargo shorts. I'd much rather see jorts on anyone and anything than cargo shorts, which just make the wearer look awkward and lumpy 😛
@dumpling i dont think cargo shorts would fly at work. maybe if i worked on the mainframe

@dumpling my last job the office was all mainframe programers and it was just a bunch of old dudes with ponytails, 90s steelers jerseys, camo cargo shorts, and jesus sandles.

@dumpling nuclear engineering was same thing around 2010ish. everyone that was one is either dieing or retiring leaving a ton of openings
@catdad Wow, I had no idea that was the case, although I guess it would explain why I've never run into any recent nuclear engineering majors...
