@discoursemarker I don't think so - Ello had a ... vibe to it. This feels like Twitter without the nasty aftertaste of Twitter. Only time will tell if it delivers the value of Twitter without the associated overhead of assholery and sadness.
@discoursemarker when Ello had their signup rush, that place was nowhere near finished. Mastodon at least feels more complete. That might make people stick.
