"abolish ice" is great but I'm not sure why not also "abolish the border patrol"
(iirc the border patrol is the one running the concentration camps?)
@amphetamine @cwebber Sounds like a good thing to abolish, then :3
@elomatreb that's true, and also ICE is brutal sounding and the slogan "abolish ice" is easy to say, remember, repeat... which is probably a more effective chant, then
@elomatreb well, global name collision problems are an eternal thing....
@cwebber @elomatreb namespaced proper nouns when?!?!???!
@elomatreb @cwebber Mmmh, I actually wouldn't mind if ICE was replaced with TGV :D
*likes high-speed rail.*
*is in a country which is mostly mountains. RIP.*
@cwebber the camps are one problem. Raiding offices and taking legal residents is also a problem.
@alice no doubt
@alice (note that I said "why not also" rather than "why not", but @elomatreb probably gave the right answer to that https://social.elomatreb.eu/notice/182184 )
@cwebber abolish borders ? It will solve all the foremensioned problems :D
@cwebber the real answer is because ICE is a very new agency doing immigration enforcement against the entire population with very limited oversight. abolishing borders entirely is definitely the end goal, but it's a much harder fight then "don't cause harm to people who are already here and have been here for years"
@cwebber they're all dhs
