Christopher Lemmer Webber @cwebber

Apparently I can't email hotmail addresses anymore. My IP and domain aren't listed on spamhaus. I have no idea why I'm being rejected and I don't see any recourse to find out.

I hate the centralization of email :(

@cwebber ah deliverability issues to Microsoft, good luck

I have to deal with these sometimes at $WORK and its always a PITA

@cwebber when this happened to us all we had to do was fill out the form and they whitelisted us

@nightpool Thanks... I didn't know about that form. Filed one with it. Hopefully it helps...

@cwebber definitely check out what SMTP error code you're getting, there's a whole list of them on this page: sendersupport.olc.protection.o

@cwebber IIRC when it started happening to us, it was because our registrar's nameserver completely mangled our SPF records :O

@nightpool It looks like they're blocking a whole network, probably Linode machines in my vacinity.

@cwebber wow, it's good to make email unequal

try checking with Microsoft why you can't send mail to Hotmail

@cwebber Should be a fairly simple automated process to get delisted. Note that if your IP is marked as being part of a "dynamic IP range", Microsoft will probably block it, regardless of whether or not it's been used for spam. Are you in SORBS DUHL list? sorbs.net/listing/aboutlisting

@ocdtrekkie Thanks for that... I don't appear to be in that list...

@cwebber I couldn’t email iCloud or Hotmail from my home server, despite having SPF and DKIM configured. I’m told it’s probably because I don’t have a PTR record for my domain and IP address.

That to say I also hate the centralization of email.

@cwebber I'm dealing with similar issues for months now. Sending mails in reply to Outlook/Hotmail recipients works but new emails get accepted (queued for delivery) and than just dropped (not in spam folder, no NDR generated). No solution found yet, their support ignores us. Delivery to hundreds of other mail systems works fine, it's just Microsoft.
