I'm hoping my next laptop is a #purism laptop.
@craigmaloney
Me too. I just don't need one yet. Purism is a great company. Can't wait for my Librem 5
@craigmaloney we reviewed one on the Ubuntu podcast. Episode will be out next week.
@popey Nice! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
I'm absolutely loving mine. It behaves to the point of being a little boring at times. ;)
@RussSharek I like boring laptops. :)
Exactly. The purism is beautiful and just works.
I'm currently running pureos, and the only stumbles I've run into was a keyboard issue I was able to remap on software and Bluetooth requiring a binary blob which I decided to do without for the time being as an experiment in seeing how much I can do with free(dom) only.
@craigmaloney I hope that @Purism will offer laptops with trackpoints at some point. Still my first ThinkPad, but I doubt I can live without a proper trackpoint anymore.
@schmittlauch @Purism That's doubtful since it was licensed technology. I think Dell and HP pay a fee for using the tech.
@craigmaloney I’m happy with mine. Like Russ, I’m still using PureOS exclusively. https://alexschroeder.ch/wiki/Purism
@craigmaloney Me too! Or a Thinkpad. One of the two.
