i've been told to use #introductions to meet people. hi people!
i'm an engineering student but i mostly go on the internet to share feels about media. lately that's mostly been fanfiction (and talking about fandom itself because whoa communities are cool) and video games but i'm trying to be better about reading ~new books~ instead of staying in my bubble of established fandoms.
@melted Hi! What kind of engineering are you studying? I'm a relatively recent grad (<3yrs) working as a hardware engineer.
@coralin oh hey! i'm in electrical engineering ^_^ not quite sure what i want to specialize in after i graduate tho. so many options!
@melted Yeah, I felt that way too. I ended up working in telecom (designing core and edge routers) which is fun and challenging in a good way. But I also spent most of my time at school studying biomedical applications of ECE so... kinda a departure from what I studied D:
@melted Co-op is so good! I did it too and it was a great way to make $$$ and see what the various industries have to offer. If you can, you should look outside your city and see if you can travel, I did 4months in Ottawa and it was an experience! (it was in the winter, so not 100% the greatest experience)
@melted That's awesome and exciting! Good luck! I have many friends who moved to Montreal and it seems to be super cool as a city.
@coralin thanks! yeah, it is def a cool city. i've visited before but can't wait to go exploring. also summer is probably the best time to experience it so that's a plus :)
@coralin yesss i love coop! 100% not sure how i'd afford uni without it. until now i've been in my home town or uni town, but i'm doing a coop in montreal this summer. super excited! (but also scared because ahhh new things and i don't know anyone there)
