so i've tried to run shadowrun a few times now and asside from getting bogged down in the rules (an annoying yet solvable problem) i've had a lot of trouble keeping the group interested during the setup stages of a run
i really enjoy the process of planning out a run and get a great sense of satisfaction for a well executed plan ("i love it when a plan comes together") but i don't think that's true for most of the rest of my players
so
the question becomes
how do i setup runs they'll enjoy

@catoutofbed I first used it in an adventure where the centerpoint was a Star Wars podrace. That would have put the spotlight on one character too much, so I introduced the opportunity for other players to introduce flashback scenes every time he encountered other racers, showing how they had messed with them by stealing their lucky dice, keeping them up all night partying, etc. They had a great time.
