Like many #Android users, i downloaded my #Facebook archive and found that FB has been logging all of my text conversations and phone calls since 2015. I could easily delete Facebook but I need to keep Messenger, which would seem to defeat the point of deleting Facebook.

You can use your phone number with messenger instead but doubt anyone trusts fb enough for that. Signal is good but hard to get others on board.

@generica Yes, Messenger is tied to my phone # only at this point. Unfortunately it's the only way for me to keep in touch with certain family, and no way would they move to Signal.

@carrie I totally want to delete my FaceBook account, but it's the only way for me to keep in touch with some of my long distance friends.
