Checked out Feedly today but client and cloud based so fluffy. Not sure I want to deal with Drupal. I remember making one for a class A long time ago that was only a few lines of code and rustic. I'll be looking till I find the perfect one for me.

Tiny Tiny RSS tt-rss.org is what I set up to do my own RSS aggregation (comics and news). It works great, but I don't think it meets your no clients rule.
But if you knew an accommodating nerd with some server space, it's pretty lightweight and was fairly trivial to set up (Drupal was more difficult).
