The Messages app in Mac OS uses the backspace key to erase the character to the left of the cursor and the command + backspace chord to delete the entire message history with neither a confirmation dialog nor an undo method.
This is the sort of user-hostility I would ordinarily expect from a Linux GUI app.
@photopuck Yeah I don't want to neglect the need for a secure deletion of a transcript. But we can have both and it would not break the UI paradigm.
@ardgedee command + z doesn’t undo it?! That seems very user-unfriendly indeed.
@ardgedee That seems like a useful function for certain kinds of emergencies, but I would want the chord to be a little more involved.
