Fact of the matter is that I have never seen a successful FOSS project led by someone who wasn't a white coder guy. Even then the dev communities rarely acknowledge user feedback, and are hindered either by the despotic authority of core developers, or the incapacity of dev team members to agree one with another.
For all of that, I believe that unless the elitism of the white coder guys is crushed and everyone is put on an equal level, nothing will ever be solved.
