The oldest thing I remember writing in an online bio was "the thing I am most proud of is my friends" (on CIX in the 90s), and it's still true.
I spent a long time sort of scared and in awe that they would even talk to me, or even incredulous that they were really friends. It made close relationships hard, because I felt that way about everyone (and guilty and distant if I didn't).
Gosh! How messed up, in retrospect! You might want to guide yourself out of this, if you feel that way too...
@mala same here. I astonishingly tried to find friends who were interesting people ie: people who in fact I felt impressed by. What an arse. Said so much more about me that it did about them. Dissatisfaction on a grand scale! So glad I've a) realised this and b) stopped looking back and wincing ;)
