why is it that rampant opioid abuse only became a problem when it started effecting white middle class/aged people?
why are all the mitigation efforts aimed at stopping street dealers while the people who caused the epidemic by pushing doctors to prescribe higher and higher dosages (insys and Perdue pharma) get off scott free?
@Zaphodbblx though the root of the problem is the drug companies undersold how potentially addictive the drugs actually we're. Doctors were prescribing it without all the information.
There are people where these drugs are a life saver, allowing the to lead normal pain free lives. Most who got a prescription probably did not need it and both the doctors and the patient did not know how dangerous the drugs are.
@Zaphodbblx oh you know, it's the old story. Drug companies give lots to politicians who inturn tell the world that it's the fault of the individual. To solve the problem gov gets the police go after the little guy.
